Since we've all been stuck at home for several weeks during stay-at-home orders during the global COVID-19 pandemic, Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area has introduced some virtual programs. We hope that these programs will allow our online visitors to experience the heritage area even when you can't safely travel. Until then, we encourage you to download the FFNHA app on your mobile devices, and explore the many tours available!

Freedom's Frontier participates in Passport to Your National Parks. We have a cancellation stamp at the Carnegie Building, 200 W 9th Street, Lawrence, Kansas, where our offices are located. Since the offices are closed, and staff is working from home, we created a virtual stamp. Print it out and add it to your passport!

Freedom's Frontier also is part of the Kansas African American History Trail, which also has a passport program.

Freedom's Frontier has also created the Stuck at Home Speaker Series. Our first Stuck at Home presentation on Friday, April 24, 2020, featured Kerry Altenbernd, a Notable Kansan for his portrayals of abolitionist John Brown. The Watkins Museum of History, in Lawrence, Kansas, co-hosted this presentation. We used Zoom, and invited the public to join us. More than 125 did. The YouTube video of Stuck at Home: John Brown Speaks has been viewed more than 250 times.
