General Meeting- Monticello Community Historical Society

"Onward Haskell, The Making of an Indian Nations University” The Indian Industrial Training School welcomed its first 22 students to Lawrence in 1884. This presentation examines the early days of Haskell and the goals of the US government in providing an American Indian-specific school.  Presented by Eric Anderson and sponsored by the Kansas Humanities Council.
