Susan B. Anthony Comes to Olathe

This reader’s theatre program will explore women’s suffrage and the rights of African Americans in 1867 Kansas. In 1867, Kansas Voters had the opportunity to grant suffrage to either black men or white women. The viewpoints in this program are representative of the time period and don’t reflect the City of Olathe’s or Freedom’s Frontier’s opinions on the 1867 vote. Additionally, some period language is included in the program that might be offensive to modern listeners.
