African Americans in Times of War-Greater Kansas City Black History Study Group

The speaker for the evening will be artist, advocate and poet, Mr. Maurice Copeland. As we kick off the 2018 ASALH Black History Month Theme: African Americans in Times of War, Mr. Copeland's topic for the evening will be, "What Reason to Serve"."The 2018 theme, “African Americans in Times of War,” commemorates the centennial of the end of the First World War in 1918, and explores the complex meanings and implications of this international struggle and its aftermath."
