Through Darkness to Light; Photographs Along the Underground Railroad

This pictorial exhibition tells the story of an estimated 100,000 slaves between 1830 and the end of the Civil War in 1865 who chose to embark on a journey in search of freedom. In conjunction with this Traveling Exhibition from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Wyandotte County Historical Museum will display artifacts found at the excavation of the Quindaro Township in Kansas City Kansas, an area believed to be an instrumental part of the Underground Railroad.
