    This yearlong exhibit chronicles the 100-year history of Kansas City’s Guadalupe Centers, Inc. – and by extension, the history of the city’s thriving Hispanic and Latino community.     Enterprising Women: Lawrence in the Suffrage Movement

    2020 marks the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. The struggle for the vote was long and hard fought. Even in winning the vote, not all women were able to access their new enfranchisement for decades, and some communities still struggle today. Kansas was forefront in the fight for women's suffrage, extending the right to vote to Kansas women eight years before national suffrage.     Bison Hike

    We will explore the prairie while learning about bison. Join us on our guided bison hike to see what the prairie has to offer this time of year. Don't forget your cameras! Be prepared for a two mile hike over uneven terrain. Bringing water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen, and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Binoculars will be useful in looking at bison as well as other wildlife that we may see. Dress for the weather....details >>

    Guided Bison Hike

    Winter is here and the bison are well prepared for its biting wind and cold temperatures. We will brave the conditions to see bison in their natural habitat. Don’t forget your camera! Be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain. Bring water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.     Christmas on the Farm

    Visit with costumed interpreters as you stroll along lantern-lit paths to the Watkins’ family home where you will be greeted with the smell of hot apple cider and wassail and the sound of Christmas carols.
