Established in 1888, Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri is located near University of Missouri - Kansas City and the historic battlefield of Westport. Consisting of 157 developed acres upon a total of 320 acres, the grounds feature winding tree-lined roads with rolling hills. Theodore Roosevelt on his last visit to Kansas City before his death remarked that these grounds consisted of the finest collection of trees he had ever seen. There are many unique artistic monuments, and the grave markers read as a who’s who of Kansas City history.

Among those buried here are Confederate General Joseph O. Shelby and Negro Leagues legend and Hall of Fame pitcher Satchel Paige. There is near the office a new memorial plaque devoted to baseball great John "Buck" O'Neil.
