The homes, farms and businesses in this antebellum village depict the era of peace and prosperity that preceded the Border and Civil Wars. The variety of architectural styles in the village represent the different cultural and economic backgrounds common among residents in towns of western Missouri. Dressed in 1850s attire, our staff and volunteers engage in activities to complement their period surroundings. From holiday celebrations to daily tasks, Missouri Town 1855 brings the past to life
