Freedom's Frontier hosts Created Equal programming at Carnegie Building

Shawn Leigh Alexander, from the University of Kansas, led a brief discussion after the screening of Worse than Slavery at the Carnegie Building on February 11. Now he will talk about the film, and offer a more in-depth look at the film on February 27, at 7:30 p.m.

Join us at the Carnegie Building, 200 W 9th St., Lawrence, Kansas, as Alexander presents Worse than Slavery: Race Violence and the Defining of the Nation in Post-Emancipation America.

This program, part of the Created Equal: America's Civil Rights Struggle Film and Discussion Series, is free and open to the public. It is cosponsored by The Langston Hughes Center, the University of Kansas Department of African & African American Studies, Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area, Dole Institute of Politics, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
